I must admit once the decision appeared to have been made for Laura to take time out and get the wrist right I wouldn't really have expected her to be back playing at this stage.
As I have said before no hurry, one you decide to take time out then get it absolutely right, especially with the limitation on her senior tournaments still this year.
Even by the end of the month, she will only have been out from playing competitively for 2 months, no biggee in her overall development, even if a few more weeks on top of that.
I really do suspect ( and hope ! ), Phil that you are getting overconcerned here.
I think ten is achievable, not likely. If Heather, Georgie & Naomi are not there I shall be very disappointed - Laura & Anna are the two who might be problematic. The trouble is that the first 3 months of the year have so few 25ks that the draws have been tricky and the likes of Anna just can't get in. April and May have loads of tournies so could be the time we see the real progress for this lot, and the likes of Lisa & Joss who are not far behind.
I have always believed that a wrist injury is the worst type for a tennis player as it is the part that takes most of the load. The fact that the injury has needed a cast as well points to the severity of it. Alot of these injuries can become chronic so only returning to action once 100% pain free is crucial. I suspect playing mixed doubles at the Hopman Cup with the men has led to extra pressure being placed on that area. She certainly seemed to playing with much more power in the matches I saw her play this year. Not sure continuing to play at the Aussie open with this problem was wise in hindsight.
Well, Laura does have her GCSEs coming up around the corner and her mocks would've been pretty much in the last month or in the next week or something so that could play a part in why she has withdrawn from these events.

If Jamie out of this and any teniis before, I presume it must be the injury.
Pity if it's not clearing up as quickly as he indicated it probably would during his outpouring about how wonderful Roehampton was and particularly such as the medical facilities.
