nice hold from evo there, after missing a bp at 1-1, then has to face 15-40, and holds 2-2*, is consistently getting to the 30's when returning but not breaking
4-4* great hold, evo is down 0-30, comes back to 40-30 then misses a host of chances to hold before finally holding, good battling from evo so far, if only he can find a break now
Pity for the guys. I definitely had more hope for James than Dan and indeed James got closer. Though pretty tough for both.
The first couple of weeks of the year were so promising, but so far been a rather false dawn.
I do think they are both capable of getting a better run of results going and against higher ranked players, but then to an extent so are many other players around them in the rankings.
Just hoping either or both can get a few good wins again sooner rather than later and build that confidence.
Could be a little tricky, though I will take Flemski to eek out a 1st round win.
Flemski's first ATP title was against Clement and Llodra in Metz last September, won on the MTB. Couple of weeks later they beat Clement and Ascione in straight sets in the Mons Challenger.
Clement / Mahut is certainly not a regular partnership, but individually they are ranked 45 and 99 respectively in doubles, and are of course on home ground.
Shame for Ward and Evans to both lose their opening matches but perhaps not too surprising that they did. Would have hoped that Ward could have perhaps got a win, especially given the good start that he made, but not to be in the end.
They have made decent starts to the season but haven't quite made the leap to the next level yet where they are consistantly able to beat players in the 120-200 range which hopefully will come soon.
Tough draw for Flemski as well but hopefully they can sneak through and would probably expect them to, but both their opponents are very good doubles players and playing on home soil does seem to inspire them.
