I was surprised as well but given that she is based in Florida maybe a wise decision. Saying that her first priority for the week after is the 75k in Spain.

Heather Watson, Britains US Open junior girls champion, will be in the main draw of the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne next week, thanks to a wild card granted her because of the strong ties the tournament has always had with IMG, her management company. Now ranked No. 487 and having played at the lower tiers recently in order to get some much needed tour experience, the 17-year-old from Guernsey will play in her first Premier mandated event on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.
