Week 6 - Futures F3 ($10K+H) - Bressuire, France - Indoor hard

Main draw is out - http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2010/259/mds.pdf

James Ward, Dan Evans, Chris Eaton are all here, they all have nice draws as well.

Looks like this could be the week where choices are made for the DC. I wonder if Lloyd will make the trip here to watch?

No one in doubles.

Not sure what to make of the fact that James and Dan are playing 10K events but at the same time, they're only 3rd and 4th seeds so whoever's seeded 1 and 2... same question.

aren't futures stronger at this time of year due to fewer challengers?

Probably. There is only one Challenger this week, which doesn't happen very often.

and the challenger had a cut of 206.

the early season challenger calendar is a total mess right now, way too few events.

just checked on google maps, Bressuire is nowhere near Marseille, so pretty difficult for any of the boys to play ATP qualies if they reach the final :(

Hmmm Dan Evans has pulled out and been replaced by a lucky loser.

Something else quite interesting. The top seed was knocked out by someone ranked outside the top 1000 in 3 tiebreaks.

He must've realised a run as far as the semi-final would have taken away his chance of playing at the Belgrade quals.

However, would you aim for an achievable 8 points for a semi here, or the 5 for qualifying in Belgrade?

This is a ridiculously strong draw for a 10K event but hopefully Eaton and Ward can get some points out of this and both have winnable first matches to begin with.

Hopefully Dan has just pulled out to prepare for Belgrade qualies rather than having picked up any kind of injury, and I guess he thinks that points will be easier to come by in the challenger.

No way!

Lloyd is gonna look pretty stupid if Boggo wins Bergamo!
