AB 64 51*

14 aces so far!. either Boggo's serve is on fire or Siddy really cant read it.

Fantastic from Boggo.
Setting up a potential 2nd round meeting with Karol Beck.
Boggo has beaten Beck twice before, however Beck holds a 3-2 HTH advantage.

14 aces over the 2 sets is great. and nice to see Boggo close down the only chance Siddy got, could have been a turning point that.

As for the apparent up turn, who knows. its obvious Alex feels comfortable on the courts here which probably helps. He wasn't in a great state of mind during his earlier matches and maybe he just needed a little time to clear his head.

its only 1 match so its still early days, and probably Beck next is a shame as that will be tough. still as you say he's beaten him before (although 1 of those was when he was newly back on the tour)

Obviously it's hard to tell just from a scoreboard anything about a performance but it did look like Boggo played very well, especially behind his serve, with 14 aces and no double faults, and 1/3 of his serves were an ace, so that is something to be happy about.

Took most of his chances on Sidorenko's serve as well which is something he hasn't always done in the past, so overall a very good effort and a great start to the week. (of course, Sidorenko could have blatantly tanked/been injured etc and the result was not down to Boggo at all, but hopefully that isn't why he won so easily)

Beck or Karanusic in the next round isn't a bad draw considering that neither or them are in any real form this year (or the back end of last year) and that Boggo has beaten Beck in the past so hopefully could do it again.

Good win for Delgo & Bozo (1 & 4 smile ), but it seems to me M 'n' M made unnecessarily heavy weather of their win:  I had to go in to a meeting roughly half-way (or so I thought!) through the second set, at which point they were a set & a break up! disbelief Very relieved that they didn't then proceed to go & blow it! nod.gif  Here's hoping that the little, er, wobble helped them get their collective eye back in! pray.gif

I can imagine Boggo celebrating not having a joyful week of mentoring from Lloydy.

But exactly.  He could be beaten by GB's 3rd/4th choice pairing.
