A good start to the match but once he got the break his first serve seemed to disappear and by the time he got himself back into the match it was far too late for it to matter.
He showed some good signs but also had some of the same old problems that has plagued him in the past. Hopefully he can find a good draw next week as he seems to be in enough form to put a good run together somewhere.
Had a bit more time to reflect on Boggo's performance.
I guess a positive to take from that is that we know Alex can play better. He defiantly can serve better (we saw from the stats in rd 1) and it was noticeable that the sudden drop came with the break lead. Beck is a good player, top 150, and Alex was able to match him on the ground stokes etc, and if he'd been able to keep his serve working we could have had a different result here.

M & M will face the alternates, Beck & Krkoska (SVK/CZE), in (I presume) tomorrow's doubles final after they did for the third seeds, Bracciali & Erlich (ITA/ISR), by 6-2 3-6 [10-7] a short while ago. Hmm, tricky one...

To answer my own implied question, the doubles final is scheduled to kick off at 19.30 GMT tomorrow. Let's see you take your second title of the year, lads.
