James Ward and Colin Fleming have turned up for qualies here and are in the same quarter.
Ward kickstarts his qualifying campaign against Croat Wildcard Antonio Lupieri whilst Flembo starts his against the Davis Cup villain in the form of the polish Jerzy Janowicz.
Should both win Ward could potentially play 2nd seed Ilhan, who Ward beat in Chennai whilst Fleming could face 6th seed belgian Ruben Benelmans
James Ward WR 261 vs. Anotnio Lupieri (WC) WR 1351 Colin Fleming WR 511 vs. Jerzy Janowicz WR 330
I'm guessing Lupieri has been playing juniors as he only turned 18 last week.
In what sounds like something out of a Boggo nightmare, it'll be (q2) Ilhan or Peya for Wardy next - Peya is up 7-6 5-4*.
Good to see Colin giving singles qualifying a go here - I wonder if he's going to do this more often and see where it takes him with his singles ranking (tough, of course, if you're going too deep in doubles events to get to qualifying in time! ) or if it's just with a view to being the backup singles player in the DC tie.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Hutch/Kerr as well as Flemski will be here and Murray/Marray were ahead of Delgado/Moser on the alts list so will be here unless they made the cut elsewhere (maybe Jo'burg).
Very good to see Colin having a singles outing. Pity he couldn't get a win, but it was a pretty togh draw.
As was said, it's often going to be a bit difficult with his doubles commitments. But it is good especially with David Cup in mind, when assuming Flemski are picked for Davis Cup ( won't they JL ?! ,) if he can at least keep manage some decent singles competition. Don't quite see Ken being the back-up singles player
Trouble for him in future is even if Flemski are at venue in time, we hope that will be an ATP venue and he can't really be even guaranteed to get into qualifying, especially if his ranking falls much further. Indeed, I see it is due to drop about 100 places to outside the top 600 in Monday week's rankings.
So, it's going to be kind of difficult for him to keep up his singles ranking and get appropriate singles competition, especially if Flemski continue to play as we hope at top level.
