I have to say though, Feucherolles has the best website, for a Futures, that I've ever clapped eyes on. Lots of info, a selection of photos... they even have videos! It's all in French of course, but that's not a problem for me since I speak French, and it's not that difficult to figure out anyway and navigate around.
Disappointing maybe, but I think you're all being a bit harsh on Dan. You would certainly expect Eysseric to have a much better career than Dan (I do anyway) so it's not really Dan's fault.
If, say, Rajeev Ram lost to Bernard Tomic in Australia then I wouldn't describe it as "really poor" from Ram. Just unfortunately he's not as talented as his opponent.

er i guess, but their age is identical, evo has a higher rank than jon's ever had, and evo's won a challenger, so not really, dont read that much into juniors, that is in the past
Dan Evans is our most frustrating player. He can get some really good results, then do nothing for ages. He certainly has a lot of potential, and a steely determination, but he must keep developing his game to take advantage of the obvious talent. Too often he does not know how to turn things round if they go pear shaped. He loses confidence and it can be a while before he is back winning again. He needs good coaching. The business with checking out of Roehampton may indicate he is frustrated himself. I don't think he could handle being the "next best thing" in British Tennis. It is a bit of a millstone.
I have to agree. I put it down to where his head's at. Evo hasn't got it figured out yet, that mental side of the game. All sorts of things in the game can trigger some kind of mental challenge, it's a big stumbling block for many players. Players mentally crumbling and then checking out are a dime a dozen. If you ask me that's the difference between the top players and those who seem like they've got the talent but inexplicably tank for no obvious reason in their physical fitness or raw potential - the top guys have figured out in their heads where they need to be and how to cope with the bad situations without succumbing to mental meltdown.
I'll tell you this for free, Evo will never be the next best thing in British tennis if he doesn't sort out his mental state. Where he is now sure ain't gonna cut it so he's gonna have to sort it out. I'm sure I heard the LTA crowing about their new sports psychologist team during last March's tie vs Ukraine - well they need to start getting them on the case here. And whilst they're at it they should have a go at sorting out Goodall hitting the panic button every time he goes into a tiebreak. *shakes head* Never would've guessed the burly Basingstoke bloke even got nervous but I've seen too many of his tiebreaks now to deny the irrefutable conclusion any longer that the man can't handle them. Pity. Needs to be sorted out really.
