Yet another heartbreaker for Ross in a Slam, but a good effort against a good team and there seemed to be only one or two points in it at the end.
Relieved to see Flemski get their first Slam win on the board, and even if it is Bhupathi and Mirnyi next they are more than capable of getting the win especially as the 4th seeds are playing their first tournament together.
Shame for Ross to get so close to a win against the Poles but it seems that the Brits are just never going to be able to beat them for whatever reason.
Good win for Flemski though against a team they ought to be beating and they are off the mark in Grand Slams now which is good. Next round will be tougher but again will help with the idea of what level they are at and whether or not they can challenge for the big events yet.
Thanks for that, David. Nicely judged interview. Quietly optimistic.
I'm a bit late, but better late than never, I feel, as a doubles fan, to add my congratulations to Col & Ken on their win ( ) & commiserations to Ross & Jordan on being pipped at the post against "the bloody Poles" ( ).
Yes, the highest seeds left in Flemski's quarter are now Aspelin & Hanley, the no 11 seeds, who Hutchins and Kerr beat in last week's Sydney semi finals.
Opening up rather tantalisingly, but I guess one match at a time
