What do people think of this idea? I think it looks like it could be really good but I wonder just how far along the process it is. Clearly it's not in the very very early stages as it's being publicised but is it at the definitely going to happen point either?
Thoughts anyone?

Very interesting, I would like to hear more in time, especially once they've given up on that substitution nonsense
Clearly the calendar is already very crowded and I would not at this stage want the Davis Cup devalued in favour of some over-gimiky "with it" replacement.
Tennis works, to my mind for many reasons it has an almost ideal scoring system. That actually includes the tiebreak where the first to 7 points, breaks after each 6 points has a great symmetry re serving / ends etc, that i don't see much point in changing to first to 5 ( though that would be one of the least of my worries ).
I also note the RR element. Now are they going to be prepared with folk that are competent in a little fairly basic basic arithmetic and can ideally do their calculations in advance ? To save the authorities from any more of the unwelcome publicity they got from their O2 incompetence, I am quite wlling to be employed to fly to whatever necessary exotic part of the world for some not totally obscene salary, to do the neceasary sums

I think you should cut them a little slack on the numeracy - after all, they do come from world where people think 15,30,40 is the best way to count to 3.
As for substitutions, this is January 13th, not April 1st.
