Yes, 4 /5 is certainly the much more notable statistic and on the face of it very disappointing from Dan's point of view. I would think 4/11 would not be a million miles away from the average break point conversion rate, The issue is much more that Dan was broken so often from many fewer BP opportunities.
Anyway, now just read through the posts that told the unfolding story. Certainly looks like a match that Dan could and probably should have won.
But at least he has gathered 12 ranking points from his late decision to go to Auckland and now also will be in Aus Open qualifying. It looks like at his best he is in pretty decent form, but a bit inconsistent.
The 4 / 5 break point concession looks pretty bad, but just going on scores maybe Lammer did rise to the occasions more than Dan wobbling at such points. Hope so anyway.
i would imagine Evo still struggles a bit on consistency on serve. as we know he isnt that tall so if he cant quite get the rhythm right he may be getting punished. possibly could be why he has a tendency to get broken to love sometimes. still its been a decent start to the year, and it wasn't an awful performance here, he's got 5 matches under his belt already, so hopefully he can play well at AOQ.
