er anyone else look on his playing activity last year, not many wins that stand, only 4 top 400 wins, none of those inside the top 250

No, I did look at his playing activity this year though smile  That is pretty impressive in that he qualifed for Chennai MD last week beating WRs 144 and 171.

Also, rankings being based on a whole year's play are often not the greatest of guides especially with younger players. If you looked at July onwards, the more recent 6 months, even without last week he's actually accumulated more ranking points than Dan.

Though, as you say, especially before last week, Dan had beaten quite a few more players in the top 250 / 400.

Definitely to my mind it would be a decent win for Dan, but I agree quite achievable.
