GBR win (don't know score - this is a twitter update) and take the match 2-1

A consolation, but could be useful in closing the rankings gap on Belarus and increasing the likelihood of avoiding a strong nation next year.

Sounds like a great match and a fighting victory for the girls.

The first 'live' rubber Sarah has won (at the second attempt), although in fairness she won matches last year the were more live than this.

Good to see ACE actually providing some insightful insight into the match for a change.

Decent effort.
Obviously all hope was lost yesterday and in hindsight whichever lineup had been put out would have probably resulted in defeat.
Hellishly difficult section to get out of unless you have 2 top 50 singles players and a good doubles partnership.

For completeness the score was 3-6 7-5 6-2 winning on their fifth matchpoint

We play Holland tomorrow in the 5-8 place play-off tomorrow morning.

Completely pointless of course, but it does affect Fed Cup ranking.
