A nice draw for Slabba, (6) Haithem Abid (TUN) WR 392 or another qualifier will await the winner in R2. The top seed in this event is ranked 4 places below Slabba's career high of 266.

Slabba's also in the doubles.  He & his Spanish partner, Guillermo Alcaide, are the third seeds & beat the unranked Brazilian WCs, Americo Lanzoni & Emilio Muller, by 0 & 2 in the first round:

QF:  (3) Guillermo Alcaide & Alex Slabinsky WR 835 vs (WC) Eladio Ribeiro Neto & Renato Silveira (BRA/BRA) WR 1891

They must have a reasonable chance of making the semis... pray.gif

Pity, Slabba could have done with a run here, and a guy just inside the top 400 seemed a good target for him at the moment.
