RE: Week 49 - ITF ($10K) - La Habana, Cuba Hard

The academy Naomi has been working with in France has been spotlighted on the WTA website:

It sounds like Naomi is in good hands!

Thanks for the link.

It certainly makes it look as if the academy must have great faith in Naomi's talents that she is even there.

It must help her that even more top players are being added that she can be around.

You hear both positive and negative feedback about this academy. There seems to be a high turnover of players for whatever reason but Patrick Mouratoglou does seem to get an initial positive response from his personal pupils. Take Rezai as an example.
Whereas I don't think it has worked out for Larcher de Brito another recent recruit.
From all accounts Patrick likes his players to play in a certain style ( i.e all out power with very little finesse).
But as far as our players are concerned Naomi as well as Luke and Laura seem to be thriving in this enviroment. So long may it continue. Not the five star luxury of the NTC but a very nice four star facility all the same.
I do like the focus on it being a second home for its pupils.
By the way Naomi won the player of the month award from the LTA . There wasn't much competition but great to see her rewarded all the same.
