What's this dropping a set, waste of space, she could only keep it up for 26 successive sets, then can't even win the first set against someone outwith the top 600, huh
Best of luck in the final, Naomi, put it all into one more match and then a well deserved rest.
Naomi is now on a 14-match winning streak, matching Anne K's streaks from 2001 (2 10K titles followed by a 25K Final) and 2005 (2 10K titles followed by a 10K Final) which head the list of known women's streaks at http://britishtennis.activeboard.com...picID=15797495 - and Naomi's is marginally better than either of those because she's actually won a 25K in hers.
Naomi is also now 18-1 since Wimbledon!

absolutely remarkable comeback, very very well done naomi. all her hardwork has paid off and an up yours to the lta is never frowned upon. have a well earned rest and come back even better in 2010!

Steven's quote above would mean that with todays title Naomi now has the longest winning streak .Did anyone else think the same as me and expect the record to be much longer?
Did anyone else think the same as me and expect the record to be much longer? Not really - in normal circumstances (i.e. not December), after a few wins you'd move up a level to tougher opposition. The men's record is only longer because it included qualifying matches.
And well done to Naomi - for me, to win three tournaments on comeback is the best performance this year from our women.

A 25K title on comeback was maybe the standout, but after winning that to back it up with the two Cuba 10K titles and having a 30 sets to 1 set record over her three comeback weeks I think shows that we very definitely have someone to look out for in 2010.
Naomi will be around the top 300 after these titles are added and I only see her heading in one direction
Brilliant news to wake up to, she's clearly taken exactly the right approach to recovering from her injury and came back at exactly the right time for her. It's all very impressive.
I know the last two titles have 'just' been 10Ks when she's clearly a 25K+ player these days and we shouldn't be getting too far ahead of ourselves, but she seems like one of the most exciting prospects we've got at the moment.
