Yep - Should be an easy 6 points for Evans as Daniell has most of his points from Futures in Israel

yeah i think boggo may have missed a trick here, its such a weak draw. i know he was thinking of going, but opted against it due to travel costs, but with a drew like thsi he'd have had a great chance of making the MD and easily covering the whole trip.

If it's Marcus Daniell he did fairly well in British futures last year as well.

Evo should have too much but I think Daniell is all about serve - and if it's firing he could be a handful.

If my calculations are to be correct, then i think Bogdanovic is the 34th highest ranked player in the Austrlain Open Qualies, 2 places out of of a seeded place. So should 2 higher ranked players withdraw from either Qualifying or the Main Draw then Bogdanovic would be seeded.

Anyone know of any injury doubts? I know Simon is carrying an injury, but i'm not aware of any others

Unfortunately Boggo will drop in the rankings tomorrow due to dropping points from Noumea last year so I don't think a seeding is a possibility

i have a feeling that with a good draw he will qualify, he has been consistently competing with potential top seeds in recent months

Yes, I noticed that the rankings "as of 11.01.2010" were up on the ATP ranking pages hours ago, so those should certainly be the seeding ones OK.

Would indeed be helpful if two folk ahead of Boggo would step out the way.  I presume seeds 17 - 32 get any of 1 - 16  ( i.e. unlike the MD where there is a split )  ?

Yes, looks like a surprisng number of potential qualifying seeds are giving it a miss, since ignoring Malisse the next 33 folk on the list cover 65 ranking places ( 107 to 171 ), so basically just one in two.

If that continues lower down ( and I would have imagined lower participation if anything ) it would make the qualifying cut-off closer to 400 than 300 which is much higher than usual and Goddall and Baker would be well in if they'ed gone for it  ( although certainly originally did look sensible not to go for it ). What's the cut-off looking like ?

Are you allowing for the two remaining main draw wild cards in that list? I think the ATF one automatically goes to their highest player in qualifying and the TA one could go anywhere.
