Week 47 - Challenger - Helsinki, Finland - (€106, 500) -doubles.

Worth a thread to themselves.wink Usual suspects have arrived here with Hutch and Tecau being the top seeds, Col and Ken, the number 2 seeds and Jonny M teaming up with Sirianni. A good field, IMO,wink including the winners and runners-up from Bratislava.

L16: Hutchins & Tecau v Kontinen & Nieminen (FIN/WC).

L16: Fleming & Skupski v Levy & Sitak (ISR/RUS).

L16: Marx & Zelenay (GER/SVK) v Marray & Sirianni (GBR/AUS).

BTW, H&T play the local boys tomorrow, early evening.2gunsfiring.gif

H&T may be the top seeds, but I fear the worst for them against that pair, WCs or no! bleh

H&T manage to hold to love in the 8th game. Too little, too late? 3-5*

GSM: Kontinen & Nieminen 7-6(10) 6-3. Close match, but the Finns proved to be tougher when it came to winning the crucial points. The H&T partnership has a loooong way to go to become a force in doubles, IMO, for what it's worth.

Jonny & Joe playing tomorrow, let's hope for a win from them.pray.gif

Oh no!  I really, truly hoped they were going to prove me wrong... bleh Does anyone happen to know whether H & T intend to try to make a go of it or whether they're simply filling in time until the end of the season?

No sign of it so far.  They lost the first set 5-7. cry  1-1 in the second.  No idea who's serving first.

According to the Helsinki site Jonny and Joe lost out 6-7(6) 7-6(2) [5-10]. Not such a bad effort from a scratch pair against a well established one.cry

Col and Ken make their bow tomorrow, first up on court 3. Go boys2gunsfiring.gifwe could do with a win in the doubles here!
