Well done Alex! You really notice the difference when he moves from Indoor Carpet to Indoor Hard, he just seems so much more comfortable on IH.
i think in some cases carpet can be just too quick. if you get a huge server etc. often the carpets can be pretty worn in places too so plenty of bad bounces and making them even faster, obviously a lot of the clubs on the challenger circuit cant afford to keep replacing them. i wonder if carpet will slowly die out?
i think if he could he'd just play on hard cts and grass he would.

Good to see him close out the match and in the end it was very easy progress into the second round.
Phau in the next round should be a step up but it is a match that he definately can win, despite the reasonably good results Phau has had in the last few months (semi's in Astana and St. Remy, plus QF's of ATP St. Petersburg, although a retirement and a win over a player outside the top 1000 isn't the toughest challenge in an ATP event)
Phau though managed to Victor Crivoi at Wimbledon (who was destroyed on grass by James Ward, and we all saw who well he took to the grass this year), so he is capable of terrible performances, and Boggo did beat him when they met before, although it was back in 2005 so not too sure it will mean a lot.
I only saw bits and bobs of this in between my computer crashing and dinner.
Alex seems to have beefed up his serve a bit, seems a lot flatter, which could be why he is starting to close out tight matches. Also it means he doesn't have to rely on the lefty serve out wide on break points, which can get very predictable.
Apart from a couple of bad errors to get broken in the second set, he seemed to be much more consistent than Veic and deserved the win.
What was the final score by the way, I missed the end?
Well done, Boggo. Hope he can keep a run going here and take out Phau next round. Top half of the draw opening up for someone to take advantage of, with Istomin losing and Robert withdrawing. Time for you, Alex!

That's pretty much what I said four hours or so ago on page 1! I'll take this opportunity to congratulate Boggo, though.
Doubles match on centre court, they have switched from court one:
Murray/Marray 3-0* Hutchins/Tecau
Hutchins/Tecau missed three break points in game one, Marray/Murray miss three in game two, but convert on the fourth. In game three Hutchins/Tecau miss two more break points.
Doesn't seem to be a live stream, maybe would have been one if they hadn't switched courts (court one schedule finished now, and they were broadcasting a doubles match from court one on bwin, but not the ones on centre).
Seems strange they were broadcasting a doubles match from court one but not centre court.
Never, Hutch and Tecau hold to love and win the match 6-4 6-4. To be expected, I suppose, but hopes of an all-Brit win was on the cards for a short while. Hope the 2nd seeds can go on and win this now the top seeds have bitten the dust.
