Boggo *5-3 : If there was one area in which Alex (still!) needs to improve on to really stride into the top 100 it is his return of service - even if he could just jab it back into play his next groundstroke is often good enough to potentially make up for a weaker return. At the moment he has a tendancy to take a full swing at every return - 3/4 points can just disappear in a flash against a half decent server.
i'd agree with this. I know he can match Andy in practice. i know he has beaten Andy in particre sets, whilst its not matches condtions its still pretty impresseive. but andy dones thave the power. i said the same thing yesterday. if alex cna get more in play vs the big servers he could really turn things around. they often tragte his BH and so often he fails to get in it play.

Boggo 6-3 *1-1 : Alex also hussling well when he needs to - digging out a fh slice to keep the ball in play early in the game, Veic dumps the mid-court ball into the net; the story of the match so far. "Come on" from Alex as he screams a fh winner down the line to win the game - Veic nowhere to be seen.
Boggo 6-3 *2-1 : Veic backhand is an UE making machine at the moment - making Alex's work that little bit easier. Veic gives the game away with a double fault. Dare I say it... I can't see the croat coming back from here.
Boggo 6-3 *3-2 : Veic playing with a touch more consistency but Alex is still very much 'in' every rally in which he manages to get the ball back in play.
