Although Alex is playing consistently and taking full advantage of his big serves, which tend to be followed by a fh winner, Veic is playing loose, free and wayward at the moment. If Alex can keep up this number and quality of first serves then he should coast through the remainder of this set (at the very least).
Boggo 5-2* : Some more crushing fhs from Alex, he's really working the angles and when he does so on his forehand Veic doesn't seem to like stooping to scoop up low backhands.
Boggo *5-3 : If there was one area in which Alex (still!) needs to improve on to really stride into the top 100 it is his return of service - even if he could just jab it back into play his next groundstroke is often good enough to potentially make up for a weaker return. At the moment he has a tendancy to take a full swing at every return - 3/4 points can just disappear in a flash against a half decent server.
I forgot that my bwin account refuses to play videos which makes it pretty pointless, so unfortunately I'm having to follow this on the scoreboard only. (although I did put my entire funds on Boggo to win (£7 to win £0.70!!!))
Looking good for Boggo anyway having taken the first set with ease and hopefully he will do the same in the second set and progress easily into round two.
Boggo 6-3 : Serving like a complate and utter dream at the moment - Veic isn't even getting a sniff. On top of this Boggo is also looking much less fallible to breaking down during the longer rallies whilst remained both aggressive and tactically pro-active
