I actually got to speak with Timea and her coach during sunderland, she has been training in the UK for some time actually and has been at Gosling since January according to her and her coach "John" (he did not offer his surname). Her father had come over from Hungary for a holiday to see how she was progressing under her new British coaches although he did not seem to speak English or if he did it was very little. She is a very good talent and when I joked about her representing GBR I was told to watch this space, which is very interesting as I believe she will be a top 100 player within two years which would be great for our game with Heather and Laura coming along nicely too.

John Morris is his full name - part of a large support team seemingly. According to the Gosling website " Timea Timi is a 16 year old from Sopron, Hungary and has been training at Gosling Sports Park since January 2009 after an initial meeting with John Morris, who met her at a tournament in Venezuela where she won the ITF G1 tournament. Now training at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City, she has a support team headed up by John Morris, programme manager, with Jamie Evans as acting coach, and Daz Drake heading up the strength and conditioning, and Helen Emms looking after the her mental skills"
So far Timea has played 5 10K events, all in the UK, and reached the final each time. She will be off to America next month, vying with Heather to overtake Noppawan Lertcheewakarn for the coveted junior no.2 ranking, which gives better exempts for next year than being ranked 3-5, as both are currently.
If Jo konta who together with her family has now lived here for over 4 years has to wait forever to get GB status what makes you think that Miss Babos even if she chose that route would suddenly be provided with hers in a much shorter time period. Never going to happen IMO. I wonder who is funding her coaching costs etc. It's a bit like Andy going to the Spanish academy and then wanting to represent Spain or when Novak suddenly decided he might want to represent GB.
