RE: Week 44 - Challenger ($50,000) - Charlottesville, Virginia - Hard

Obviously heard there are Davis Cup places up for grabs. Way to go yet but he's on his way.

It seems Dominic could do no wrong today/yesterday:  he & Rizza apparently won their first-round doubles match against Bozo & Monroe (4) by 7-5 7-6(0)! biggrin They will face the likewise unseeded Dimitrov & Prpic (BUL/SWE) in the QF...

*  Some character called Ozone described him as follows on MTF in response to a request for more information about him:

I saw Inglot play briefly. He is all BIG serve, big forehand. He struggles with his "athletic" shots I guess, but still a solid player. Big and powerful

Fantastic tournament from Big Bad Dom.

Young will be an interesting one - I'm sure Inglot will be totally motivated for it.

He has a day's rest from singles play today while the remaining second-round matches are decided, but he's back in action in that doubles QF at 19.00 GMT. pray.gif

Contrary to Drew's confident - & cynical - prediction on the previous page, the LTA's got it right for once (includes a colour photo). nod.gif

There seems to be some real good signs from Dom. These first 2 wins show the level he can already play at. Quite encouraging.

A player with a big serve AND a powerful groundstroke - is he pretty much the only British player with such a combination? Boggo has a good serve and groundstrokes but that's more because he's a good timer of the ball rather than really powerful
