Lisa is the big favourite but the shoulder injury is a major worry.( no cheap points on serve)

Disappointed for Helen I thought it might have been a bit closer than that. Hope Lisa's shoulder holds up and she can get the win today.

It looks as though Lisa must have lost according to her twitter. She did show signs yesterday of being vulnerable to the odd mental walkabout. Interesting to see if she pulls out of Jersey.

Oh, that's a pity if Lisa has lost, Phil.

Maybe the shoulder problem you mentioned allied with the new expectation around her got a bit much, and caused her issues.

Pinching results from Stephen of GBTG who was there.

Lisa lost 2-6 6-4 4-6
Sam beat Nicola 6-4 6-0
Alex lost 1-6 4-6

So all and all not a great day. Only 3 left.

During the first set yesterday she was constantly getting agitated and looking up at her coach for inspiration. But then as the errors turned more into winners she got herself together and turned the match around. Her coach did elude to the fact that mental maturity is a key element to her progress over the last 6 weeks or so. Not a huge problem but something that needs to be kept under check. Her game is very much winners or errors because she hits the ball so hard and flat.
