I commented in another thread that Dan is 11th (really 10th with Fed out for the season) in the Mens Race, with Joe and Jonny both top 8 pairings in doubles. All stand a chance of reaching the Tour Finals, if they happen.
Well, Heather isnt too far off herself, she is 17th (something I had forgotten) and could reach the WTA Tour Finals or, more plausibly, the Elite Trophy Finals, both of which are planned to take place in the revised calendar.
It could very well require just two or three really strong weeks, and given the big events coming up there are lots of points on offer in a short period of time. Heather's biggest issue maybe making the draw of some of the Premier events (as she is 50th in the rankings) but she should have a shot of playing most events that she attempts to play. The US swing and later Asian/Chinese swing will be where she will focus her efforts no doubt, time to come out of the blocks quickly I would say

Heather will surely need to do better in the 2 remaining Grand Slams than she has managed in the past. Otherwise I don't think she will reaching either the WTA finals or Elite Trophy finals.

It's definitely a long shot but at least she is in touching distance, something new for her at what will be the end of season calendar. But, yes, a longer shot by far than Evo or Joe, jonny.
Re the chances of Heather reaching the WTA Tour finals/Elite Trophy finals there are currently some talented players ranked between 21 and 100. e.g. Svitolina,Keys, Serena,Osaka, Kerber, Gauff, Goerges, Anisimova,Ostapenko and Vondrousova. I think Heather will be hard pressed to stay in the top 20 assuming all these players return. A more realistic goal would be for Heather to win a round at the US Open and thus join Jo and the late Elena Baltacha as the only Britons to win a round of all the Grand Slams in the 21st century. If Heather were to reach the 4th round of either the US Open or the French Open then she would join the small group of 4 British players who have reached the 4th round of a Grand Slam since the US Open of 1987. (only 33 years ago!) Jo Konta has done it 8 times, Laura Robson twice , Sam Smith and Jo Durie each once. This is a far worse record than the mens game.
Looking on the tennis forum website it looks like Heather along with Jo has entered the Lexington tournament starting on 10th August I think. They look like they've got the intention of playing in the US Open if it takes place. Apart from corona virus issues we don't know how Heather's foot or Jo's knee is at the moment.
If Heather were to beat Jo in the 1st round of the US Open it would get a monkey off her back. She would get her first singles win in the main draw of the US Open and also have a singles win in each of the 4 Grand Slams.
