Dan Evans & Josh Milton WR 1709 lost to (3) Barry King & James McGee (IRL/IRL) WR 1286 by 1-6 6-0 [6-10]
(4) Neil Pauffley & Marcus Willis WR 1321 lost to (2) Tim Bradshaw & Alex Slabinsky WR 1043 by 6-7(4) 6-7(3)
* I presume Dan (& Marcus) had half an eye on tomorrow's singles semis, but he & Josh must've thought they were in with chance after taking that second set so easily. It's a great shame they couldn't quite hold on in the MTB.

Another splendid day for Marcus and Dan in the singles. Hope they carry on the good work tomorrow. Shame we couldn't have a all-Brit doubles final, perhaps I'm being greedy. Best of luck to them all.
Actually, no, seagull: I'm afraid I got the outcome of the MTB the wrong round when I posted the doubles results earlier (now corrected). Just to clarify, King & McGee won by 6-1 0-6 [10-6]. My apologies for any confusion my mistake may have occasioned.

I see no reason why we Brits shouldn't be greedy in that way: any other country's tennis fans would be. That said, I also think it's a sign of a congenital lack of ambition in the British psyche that we apologise so readily for wanting our boys & girls to succeed in sport, any sport, even when we know they lack the talent of their opponents, or have the talent, but lack a genuine ruthless streak/"killer instinct"/character quirk that sets them apart from the common herd/call it what you will (Tiger Tim springs to mind, for some strange reason...) & are thus doomed to finish perennial runners-up, i.e. losers.
