Week 42 - Futures F10 ($15K) - Dubrovnik 2, Croatia

Congratulations on Alex and Morgan making it through to Saturday  wink.gif

Anyway, as Steven suggested, it looks as Friday has been bad again but the organisers have more confidence in Saturday's weather since the OoP has both Morgan's L32 and potential L16 match as well as Alex's L16 match.

I guess it's looking like a Monday finish though even if the weather now relents with Morgan and Alex due to be in Spain next week with as has been said Alex just an alternate and the SE situation not looking that good.

I think the last time a tournament wasn't completed was back in 2002 in Jamaica (F15) when the final wasn't played because of rain.

Also the final of Banja Luka challenger in Bosnia wasn't completed the week before that.

It's certainly a rare thing though!

I don't see how they can possibly think of finishing this...although I guess they are working on the basis that as their is no event in Croatia next week they can carry on indefinately.

Looking at yesterdays OOP as well it seems crazy they are also persevering with the doubles..surely you do what you can to finish the singles?

I agree, I don't know why they didn't give up on the doubles days ago in an attempt to finish the singles.

A long wait for nothing in the end, though given the scoreline, I wonder if Morgan in particular was just keen to get away to Spain for next week's tournament (Alex's scoreline is actually quite impressive given the 400 place rankings gap) ...

L32: Morgan Phillips WR 454 beat (LL) Vedran Ljubicic (CRO) UNR by 3 & 0 smile.gif

L16: Morgan Phillips WR 454 lost to (5) Pedro Clar-Rossello (ESP) WR 350 by 1 & 2 cry
L16: Alex Ward WR 768 lost to (3) Nikola Mektic (CRO) WR 344 by 3-6 6-2 6-3 cry

Mm, looks as if Morgan's intended L32 opponent maybe seized up due to inactivity.

At least they found a Croat QR2 loser to fill in, all the FQR losers evidently having departed  hmm.gif
