Much better from Mandy but no reward in main draw. Good effort from Sam. Decent draw for Heather eventhough Sfar is in half decent form at the moment. Lisa has a good test but still with chances. Tough for Jos Laine is playing well at the moment. Should be a confidence booster for Mel. I wonder what each section of the draw looks like.
Not really the draw Mandy needed; gutted Jade's up against Naomi after such a good last week. Mel's half shouldn't be hard provided she can get past/avoid Laine this time. Good draws for Jade & Lisa who may fancy her chances again! Good luck to all.
I did enjoy the bits about Del Potro , like at Flushing Meadows :
" Has she met him? "Nope. But, when I was in the cafeteria at Flushing Meadows he was there, eating, with his hood up and his head down. I walked very slowly then, just staring at him to see what he was eating and stuff. And then he looked up and saw me. I carried on walking then, fast, but on the inside I was going, 'Yesssss! He looked at me!'" "
Interesting to hear her say how close she was feeling after Wimbledon to maybe giving up on the dream of a professional tennis career if results didn't pick up and probably going to college instead.
She comes across overall though as a bubbly fun person, which is the impression I already had. She likes the 7:1 ratio of boys to girls at her school in Florida
I also get the impression that behind that light hearted exterior there is a determined young lady, who wants to go far in the game and thinks she might have a chance.
