Interesting blog on the LTA site this week from Katie. Katie highlights the fact that she was in a bad place leading up to Shrewsbury. Playing poorly , out of energy and such was her mental state of mind she nearly pulled out. But a week is a long time in sport and now everything looks so rosy.
Another win for Katie, against the sort of young player she normally beats, will guarantee her spot in the top 100 at the end of the week (she will move up to provisional 97 or higher, depending on other results, with only Kucova, Chan and Zhang able to overtake, apart from two girls Katie may overtake temporarily)
from Katie's Twitter : "There seems to be a permanent rain cloud over Tokyo this week. Match cancelled today. Frustrating, but allows for some shopping later! "
On another board a Japanese poster said the weather forecast for the whole week is dreadful. I think she said they expected a typhoon, or to get caught by the edge of it at least.
The forecast from Friday onwards is good after another poor day tomorrow. What I don't understand is that Katie played indoors yesterday and didn't today.
