Fantastic, Jamie's always been my favourite of the lesser Brits (see avatar!) so I'm thrilled he's working his way back to his best. There were points when I wondered if he was going to come back.
Now he's lit up the futures scene down under, I'd like to see him move up to challengers asap and hopefully be ready to qualify for the AO come January, back where he belongs

I also if anything get the impession he is beginning to win even more comfortably. OK, the semi went to 3 sets but he he won the first set and won the final set 6 - 1 so was never in real danger.
It is great for him to build his confidence up again by simply playing and winning so many futures. But yes, after he has finished with this Aussie futures assault, it looks like the time has come to test himself further with some challengers. Probably if anything though will need rest and recuperation first He's been playing a lot of matches.
I have quite closely followed Jamie's career and up until last spring I really thought this was a guy steadily making his way to the top 100.
I am so so pleased for him that he has got over his problems.
So, he will indeed now succeed with 4 successive tournaments in moving from being ranked in the 700s to the 600s to the 500s to the 400s and now on a week on Monday to the 300s.
I am afraid, given he is entered for AUS F8, unless they suddenly start giving about 50 ranking points for futures titles that run must now end
I do though think Jamie is now back at a level when he can compete for more significant points.
Smeets ATP playing activity page shows his last 3 tournaments ending in straight sets defeats to Brits.
Assuming that's right it's now 4,can anyone remember someone managing that before?
What a fantastic margin of victory against a player he had dropped 7 and 12 games against previously, really suggests he is accelerating back to his best.Something I didn't think we'd see.
I think he should stick to futures for the rest of this season maybe play 1/2 challengers and then at the start fo 2010 play a mixture of the two unless he also blows the challenger tour away.
His only firm commitment seems to be this week in Australia.
Wouldn't surprise me if he then comes back for run in UK (Glasgow, Cardiff) before Jersey. Surely the LTA would be willing to give him WC's after what he has done 'Down Under'
