It's been a pretty nice draw for a 500 event, but nice to see Ross and Jordan taking advantage of it and boy did Ross need the wins this week.
He's won 6 out of 9 since the DC and splitting with Huss, and Asia seems to be bringing best of him for the second year running.
Unfortunately the Shanghai draw is out and Ross has not made it (unless he sneaks in as an alternate), so no oppotunity to carry on this weeks form unless he goes for a challenger.
Ross Hutchins and partner Jordan Kerr (AUS) reached the final of the Rakuten Japan Open Championships over the weekend.
After coming through a tough semi-finals tie against Christopher Kass (GER) and Jaroslav Levinsky (CZE), the pair eventually lost in a close final against the Austrian pairing of Julian Knowle and Jurgen Melzer.
After conceding the first set, Hutchins and the 2007 doubles event winner, Kerr, responded to take the second 7-5 before losing a close deciding set and suffering a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 defeat.
Hutchins said it was disappointing being so close to winning a big tournament but we played well all week and were 2 points from winning the tournament so we will take the huge positives from it.
Jordan and I play really well together and feel like with more time on court together we can beat many teams worldwide and I look forward to playing more together.
The pair will now look forward to the Kremlin Cup event in Moscow, commencing on the 15th October and Hutchins will be hoping their recent good form will see him eclipse his runners up finish at last years event.
