Brown, ranked 890 in the world defeated Peers, ranked 338.

Thats a disappointing result, Emily seems to have been taking most of her chances so far in Australia, she has just had really sucky draws!

That was a tough draw and going to Australia for ranking points hasn't really worked. Her draws have been unfortunate to say the least and now the ranking points from last year start coming off. This upcoming period will be a real test of character for her to see whether she can hold her position and show us she really does belong near the top 250 level.
