You would think she would want to do all she could to get to the Fed Cup next year, and winning the doubles title here with Sarah will do that no harm.
I would rather it be Borwell/Smith in Fed Cup but that's never going to happen in a million years so please be alright Mel.
Chuffed for Naomi but gutted for Mel. If this injury is anything that's going to lay her off for a few weeks she'll be headed towards 200 before we know it. OOTH, am obviously very pleased to see Heather winning.
Post match comments suggest that Robbo does struggle against fellow lefties but considering that she felt she played well. Reading between the lines I think Cav just played OK.
This win will put Heather on the edge of the top 600, she plays 16-year-old world junior no. 1 Kristina Mladenovic (FRA) WR 272 (yes, that's right, someone younger than her!) next. Heather beat junior RG winner and junior Wimbledon runner-up Mladenovic 6-7(5) 6-3 6-2 at the Eddie Herr junior event last December but Mladenovic got revenge 2 & 4 at the Roehampton Juniors this June on her way to the title, before suffering a shock R1 loss to Asia Muhammed in R1 of the USO juniors, which of course Heather went on to win.

Fed cup will be interesting for sure, there are about 8 players who are good enough to play in it. I hope we can finally get promoted, last year was so close but this year looks 10x more likely, just have to hope that Anne gets back into form quickly.

Mel has a hip injury according to reports which definitely affected her movement in the second set so whether she appears tomorrow in the doubles we'll have to wait and see.
Klokan I don't think anyone from this board is at Barnstaple today so updates will have to come from official or from another board. Or if you are desperate you could just phone the site.
Cav said she played much better than yesterday which doesn't augur well for either herself or Robbo. If Cav playing at her best can't get closer to Pervak that's a worry and for Robbo she clearly must have played well below her US open form.
