RE: Week 39 - Futures F24 ($10K) - Laguna Niguel, USA

Bloomers is starting to string some decent wins together, I think he's got a god chance against McClune. Fingers Crossed!

Bloomin' heck!

He did it, beat McClune - once again two tiebreaks but the correct way round this week 7-6(3) 7-6(4) biggrin

So Ken's comments of them being equally matched was absolutely true

In Sundays final it is Ryan Harrison who today beat (1) Lester Cook 7-5 6-1

Harrison is a 17-year-old who has beaten the nos 1, 4 & 6 seeds this week all in straight sets - he reached the Final last week too, losing in straight sets to McClune. His only matches against Brits were a 3 & 0 thrashing of Matthew Short earlier this year and a 3 & 2 loss to Jamie Baker in Brownsville last year during Jamie's wonder run when Harrison was just 15.

Nice to see Bloomers have some success, and hopefully he will be too powerful for Harrison and claim his first singles title of the year.

Harrison does look quite a prospect, having just turned 17 in May.

Was Australian Open Junior semi finalist and world junior no 7 in early 2008 while still 15.

That's 2 weeks in row that he's beaten Lester Cook WR 265 and he gave McClune a fairly tight final last week ( 6-4 7-6 ).

It certainly looks as if Richard will have to play well to beat this guy.

Oh darn, hard luck Richard.

I kinda thought this looked it might be a tight one and unfortunately Bloomers ended on wrong side.
