Laguna Niguel is a city in South west California so it's pretty toasty most of the year but according to weather.com temperatures will reach 79 F today and 86 F tomorrow - it would appear that humidity is low though, due to clear skies.
Laguna Niguel is in Orange County and can be very warm. There's a heat wave over here in LA at moment so my guess is it could be hitting 100 degrees in laguna. I'm there coaching on Friday so will try to get to watch a bit of it.
L16: (5) Richard Bloomfield WR 439 defeated Nima Roshan (AUS) WR 647 by 7-5 6-7(2) 6-4
QF: (5) Richard Bloomfield WR 439 vs (3) Tigran Martirosyan (ARM) WR 388
If Richard gets no further - & I sincerely hope he does - at least he's justified his seeding, which is more than can be said for the three seeds below him!

The loss to Trombetta may not be as bad as it looks. While he hasn't done much in ATP play this year, my recollection is that he was quite highly thought of as a junior.
Richard's success comes at a price - he will not now make the Sacramento Challenger qualies, I was half expecting him to 'lose' today - perhaps he is enjoying winning after a four month injury break.
Next - Yes! once again last weeks champion SF - (5) Richard Bloomfield WR 439 vs (2) Michael McClune (USA) WR 343
Really pleased to hear about Richard's win today (you actually beat me to the post, Mike! ). Just for the record (hoping it has a bearing on the SF! ), McClune's current ranking according to the ITF is 367...

That's a pity, but I think a few wins in Futures matches are probably better for him that a win or two in Challenger qualifying after the trials of the last four months.

Trombetta's current ranking, according to the ITF, is 1097 & after beating Tim, he proceeded to lose by 2 & 1 in the second round to the Aussie, James Kemke (WR 611).
I remember in last weeks match that Ken on radiotennis.com said: "these two players are equally matched in style of play and even in height - let's cut straight to the tiebreakers" - how true did that turn out to be? Let's hope that Richard learned more than McClune from that match. Unfortunately, however, McClune is playing at home in California.
