where's Steven i wonder, by now he'd have our potential opponents stats mapped out with player CH's and last meeting results.

hmm he probably tried to hook up with those union jack dress wearing girls. they were probably the highlight of the Sunday to be fair.

....... I'm  bit too old for them!

What do they say, you're only as old as the woman you feel biggrin.gif

surely your encyclopaedic tennis knowledge is enough to woo any woman.

Good info above btw. and being away you got to miss out on a lengthy boggocoatser ride as you probably saw.

You'd think, huh ROFLMAO.

I did have a few women (well one in particular) complaining that I have filled her head with unbelievable amounts of useless knowledge, and where I haven't done it directly, I've done it indirectly through pick 'em. Just say the words "who's the no. 1 player in Uzbekistan" in front of Nicki from AM.com and watch the smoke come out of her ears. biggrin

Yes, I saw the Boggocoaster thread. cry Bet he'd have beaten Przysiezny too! I can't believe they still go on about him being crap at DC when he's won more games/sets in live rubbers (and against higher-ranked opposition) then anyone they've brought in to replace him.

here's a bit of far fetched pondering: if Team Gee Bee minus Andy get themselves promoted back to Group 1, then riding the crest of the success wave then get into the world group (with Boggo, Ward and Evans all pushing into the top 100 on the back of it) should Any be allowed to waltz back into the team, benefiting from the others hard work?

or maybe should i wake up now and smell the coffee?

Hang on a sec Steven, you were that close to Castle after the tie, and you let him get away? hat was a prime chance!

not exactly a young gun but i'd give morgan phillips the no.2 slot in an away tie on clay with ward as no.1 and flemski.

From the beeb

And team captain John Lloyd has already stated that more determination is required to develop a winning mentality.
"Do we need more hunger and steel out there? Yes we do," he said. "And maybe going down, we're going to be more ruthless with who we cut out of things.

"We can get tougher no doubt about it. I think if we do it the right way and dump some guys who should not, and will not be involved in teams if I'm around, I think we can get a good spirit going."

What's all this about - is this players, coaches, both or what. Obviously it's more than just Boggo that he hates (or is he pluralising so as not to show he only means Boggo).
This man has issues, and is not interested in mediation, and needs to go now so that all players can 'get a good spirit going' without him.  These guys he wants to dump may be our only hopes for the next few years.

Yes, he may be talking about Boggo a bit, but Boggo has already been dumped. 1 year ago in fact, not even considered for the last 2 ties - can he be dumped more? can the boggo effect still be lingering in the team? who knew he had such influence biggrin.gif

the problem is we hardly have an amazing array of players to choose from, if Andy's out, lets assume Boggo's out (who has a good chance of getting back to being GB No 2 by March next year), Josh is probably on the sidelines after the recent shenanigans (yeah i needed spell check on that ok), Bloomers looks on the way out, but he was never given a chance anyway. Eaton? Ward? Evans? Baker? Fleming? Hutch? Skupski? that maybe the the team basis.

so who else could be to blame? what about the stringer guy? he seems nice on the surface but who knows, perhaps he is a divisive element in the background, always stringing Andy's racquets 1st and better, giving Evo 2nd hand string etc, not the right tension.

Lithuania have played their previous home ties on indoor hard or carpet and their players are rubbish on clay.
