Based on the points needed for each ranking position last Monday, I think this should move Ken up to about WR 78 and Colin up to about WR 80 - though the points are very tightly bunched just below that, so they might not end up quite that high. It'll be a huge leap though - not surprising since 250 points is more than twice their previous highest score, which was 110 for winning the Jersey Challenger last year.

I see we were thinking along vaguely similar lines, Steven: your post wasn't up when I started typing my previous one & I couldn't even begin to work out what kind of effect the 250 points were going to have on their respective rankings! I hope they can keep it up. DAs for the AO?
Absolutely stunning result. Couldn't keep tabs on the score, but knew they had lost the first set and feared the worst. Silly me! When I finally saw the result, I was so pleased for them, what a Deserve all the plaudits they have received here, only wish they hadn't been confined to the sidelines last weekend.

Hopefully. They're going to need to keep it going though - heaps of points to defend in November.

They've now beaten two of the best teams in the world as a pairing, as Llodra/Clement would easily be challenging the Bryans and Nestor/Zimonjic for the number one spot if they played week in week out.
Stunning result...awesome...makes the dc dubs selection look silly. to beat that pair is just fab.
Ah, but the DC selection was before this week's achievement.
What's that ? Many of us were saying Flemski should have played even before this week ?
Oh, yes, but what do we know when we've got that great Davis Cup captain
Tremendous result from the guys, and hope see you in Lithuania !
At least Russ and Jamie know they have to so up their game if either is to have any chance of being there, especially with Flemski being an established PAIR.
PS : Drew, you said in the Lithuania match thread, after the Poland match, as we discussed players : "you cannot go past Hutchins and one other unless he plummets in form and ranking". You now appear to think Flemski was the right pair for Poland and I presume now, as things stand, Lithuania. I hail your conversion

Well done to the guys. Fully deserved. They've worked hard all year working toward this first main title. Hope this is just the start of bigger things for them. What a fab week for british tennis.
