Indiana, I agree that Elena is in all probability already there and Katie would be if she reaches the Final ... just thought it would be nice to know when it happens for sure! smile.gif

Steven, I really really really do like ( and am amazed at ) all the info you have given here and I find it very very interesting, because I too would like to know when it happens for sure.  Was just commenting on the likelihoods.

I thought you might know I was into this stuff.

Anyway, I obviously wasn't very convincing earlier about my appreciation  smile

No, don't worry, misunderstanding - you didn't give the wrong impression and I certainly wasn't trying to have a go at you smile.gif

Well done to both. Lets hope they will follow what Anne did rather than what Mel did.

Well, we've lost Yung-Jan Chan and Darya Kustova from our list of threats now.

Hopefully Date-Krumm will join them in time, along with Ammunandurova a little bit later.

Date-Krumm has just beaten Hantuchova in 3 sets to reach the semis in Seoul, so she's still a threat.

Just looked at Steven's list and Mel now has to defend 200 points up to the end of the year (i.e. nearly half her current total). With that in prospect, you wouldn't bet against her being overtaken by Naomi in the not-too-distant future (who has nothing to defend). I hope she can pull some good wins out of the bag to get herself back up where she should be by the year end...good luck Mel, it's gonna be tough!

Ammunaradova won again (doh) Katie now down to provisional 100 and Elena to 97. Looks like Katie might have to win today because I can't see Dubois not making the final and there are plenty of other threats too.

de los Rios has gone out to (3) Dulgheru in St Malo but at the same tournament, Parra-Santonja is a set up on (4) Hercog.

Just out of interest where were you standing for the Bally match?

Just trying to work out if i spotted you.

For most of it I was at the end on the balcony on the left, I was in a light blue/dark blue hoodie and jeans.

The day starts badly with Smith/Larsson taking a 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 loss to Barrois/Meusburger.

Thought I might as well put the table I've been working from since yesterday evening on the net:

http://www.britishtennis.net/gbtop25f/ebkob100.htm

I'm not sure why it's all repeated as continuous text at the bottom of the page, but when it's such a temporary table, it doesn't seem worth taking the time to find out!

Nice table!

Parra has beaten Hercog today now, so things aren't going too great.

Just looking at it, if Bally loses, a win for Katie will put Bally in a slightly precarious position.

Yes, that's true, they're provisional 98 and 100 now - it probably doesn't help that the media is jumping the gun either, e.g. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/other-sports-news/elena-baltacha-breaks-into-world-s-top-100-1.921958, though I still expect at least one of them to hold on.

(3) Kristina Barrois & Yvonne Meusberger (GER/AUT) WR 302 defeated Johanna Larsson (SWE) & Anna Smith WR 330 by 3-6 6-4 [10-7] cry

Close, but not quite close enough! hmm  They seem to have given the third seeds a bit of a run for their money, though.
