Looks like Eaton played very well today 6-4 6-0, thats four breaks of serve at least. On courts that are slow as well, i wonder if he did Serve-Volley 100% today (play his normal game). Or if he did, just did it to a very high level.
I forgot to say on Tuesday he didn't serve and volley on his second serve.
Im happy with Eaton S&V on 1st serve 100% because with a big, accurate 1st serve he possesses and his ability at the net to finish off, he should win a large majority of points doing that.
Serve Volleying on his second serve, wellll... he can just about get away with it on the grass and if he is in a good rhythm on his serve-like against Pashanski. But that means having to go for it more than average- hitting it around 105mph or over and near the lines to have any effect or else he is a sitting duck at the net.
He has obviously learnt that this week on these hardcourts, if they are slow, he has to be prepared to stay back and be more patient on coming in to the net.
Great week for the Brits so far and it would be disappointing if we didn't get a British winner here, and you would hope for 4 Brits to be contesting the semi finals.
Very pleased for Eaton, only his 3rd career semi final- would be his first final if he could take Josh!
Josh, looking to be struggling a bit this week, and should be far more convincing at this level by my opinion- would like Eaton to get the win tommorow.
All the Brit men have been doing really well in futures recently you have to go back to week 29 to find a time where we didn't have someone in at least a semi and if you count challengers as well its week 27
Always appreciated when there are only brits left in singles and doubles. Looks a bit like Richard is no longer in full bloom. Would love to see Chris win this one.
I wonder if we all sat in a room and wrote down our scores for each rubber then took an average whether we would get the score right. Or we could just fix the tie....

This is probably the best week of the year in Futures so far though, despite some abject defeats early on in the week (Cox and Milton in Sweden, for example) - no less than 11 quarter-finalists (7 in Nottingham, 2 in Porto, 1 in Darwin and 1 in Kigali), 5 semi-finalists already with 3 more still to play their QFs and 42 ranking points amassed between them so far with at least 16 more to come since we are guaranteed both finalists in Nottingham
