Week 35 - Futures F9(10k) - New Delhi, India - Hard

The third and final week down in India for the lads. No one turned up in this weeks qualifying draw, but we have plenty of interest in the main draw.

Kyle Brassington vs Q Seong-Yoon Chung

Tim Bradshaw vs Kento Takeuchi (6)

(3)Chris Eaton vs Max Jones

and in the doubles...

Kyle Brassington/Peter Lucassen vs Abhijeet Tiwari/Akash Wagh

Tim Bradshaw/Max Jones vs (2) Chris Eaton/Rohan Gajjar

Would look to see Chris make another semi at least, there he would probs face Vishnu Vardhan the top seed which is better than the second seed Kim. Kyle has a nice first round but then would face the top seed. Bradshaw should be able to give a fight against the sixth seed hopefully.

Yeh definitely, if he returns well, Eaton has to come up with something different.

Max Jones did indeed beat Chris Eaton! It looks like there's ilness going around because there were 5 rets, unfortunately including Tim (a set down) and Kyle (at 1 set all) - Kyle's retirement is a real pity because the no. 1 seed pulled out too and he would have had a relatively clear path through to the QFs.

You mean Jones won 7-5, 6-3. nana.gif

And this is the Eaton who is being called for in some quarters to be in our Davis Cup team, and he has just lost to a fellow Brit ranked outside the top 1000. The worst thing is you could see it coming.

Brassington lost 3-6, 6-4 ret and Bradshaw lost 6-4, 1-0 ret.

It says the Singh v Nelord match has been abandoned(?). Not sure what that means so would welcome enlightenment from anyone who does know!ges_hmm.gif

'Tis okay, I realise from looking at the OoP for tomorrow that it was just unfinished today.redface.gif

I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking it though.

Great win for Max, but a really disappointing result for Eaton, and even with some weak 10K futures, he hasn't been able to find the results.

Hopefully Max can go on and take advantage of the chance and score some points here.
