Week 35 - Futures F3(10K) - Nonthaburi, Thailand - Hard

QR1: Jamie Baker beat 15 year old Sirawit Yumuang 6-0 6-1
QR1: Stephen Hoh beat Faris Akhazzan 6-4 6-1

Hoh no (again)

FQR: Jamie Baker vs Shivang Mishra UNR Ind

Strange the event is lower money/points than last week but better field. USO qualies must have had an effect

Jamei Baker beat Nathan Thompson 6-2 7-5 :)

Unfortunately Raonic is in his half AGAIN but he'll have to play the 2nd seed in the QFs

Nice work Jamie.

This has turned into a very successful trip for him.

Back in the top 400 by year end

Great win for Jamie and a good shot of the quarter finals and beyond again this week.

If he can keep finding some weaker tournaments for the rest of the year he'll be able to climb the rankings again with ease.

well done Jamie - can't complain about 3 straight QF's

Incidentally I see Statham was born in London so even if the Baker boy loses we can claim semi final interest.

What's Jamie up to now ranking wise ?

Would be quite surprised if he doesn't beat Statham.  Maybe he'll go to Africa at the end of the year for the weak fields out there

1)  737, according to the ITF, compared with Statham at 395.

2)  A la Slabba a couple of years ago?  wink What's he up to these days, Sheddie?  Injured?

Another good win for Jamie:

QF: Jamie Baker WR 737 beat (3) Jose Statham (NZL) WR 395 by 7-6(2) 7-6(2) biggrin

SF: Jamie Baker WR 737 v Milos Raonic (CAN) WR 486

Revenge would be sweet wink

Edit: Unfortunately, this week's and last week's SF points together only cover the 10 points he has coming off at the end of the USO, but at least he has covered them and after this, he has no points to defend until December. smile

Pleasing improvement and consistency from Jamie now, although, given the time it's taken and the fact that he seems to be playing at around WR 400 level, I still doubt whether he's ever going to get back to his career high.

Another good win for Jamie, and hopefully it will be 3rd time lucky for him against Raonic in the semi finals.

Jamie is down for Australia F5 starting on the 14th September, so presumably he's going to play at least the first two events down under, and then probably the second set of 2 events as well.
