RE: US Open 'Battle of the Boards' pick 'em 2009

He was a break ahead in the final set too. I THINK I had Mathieu but I'm not sure. *checks*

Oooh! I had Youzhny! Perhaps deep in my mind I thought he was too much of a GEM to back. I think the German players are causing me more concern.

Last time I did it in about 3 minutes and not unsurprising ended close to the bottom, however, this time I took much longer and gave it thought but with 12 points out of 20 am still very close to the bottom  nirvana.gif

Grrrrrrr..........Witten has just beaten Andreev, well done to the 2% that picked him.
The lower ranked Americans are really putting in some quality performances so far, with Isner, Kendrick and Witten cantering to easy straight set wins.
If only our lads could do the same at Wimbledon eh...........

See, this game messes with my mind sometimes. I dreamt last night that Delpo lost DESPITE already knowing he'd won... and I started raving about how he was going to beat Nadal in the quarters and smashed my desk. See? Messes with the mind.

It's either this game or the anesthetic from the dentist.

Dropping as well :( I was joint 10th at one brief point and now I'm joint 95th. It's cruel. It's cruel.

Seeds in this tournament are dropping like flies.

I blame the "anti seed ants", whatever ability seeds had preceding this tournament flew out of the window as soon as they picked up a racket. disbelief.gifgiggle.gifrofl.gif

First time ever that all 16 seeds reached the third round, so they can't be dropping like flies that much smile

I've given up on having good results in BOTB events... all my best results come when Nalbandian does well, so I'm waiting for him to return before having another great tournament.

I don't like telling people to stop winning... but Haas and Soderling, can you stop winning please? Thank you.

I need a tannoy for this really. That'd be AMAZING.

I think there's going to be some cursing shortly, depending on how Roddick fares... TWO SETS DOWN????? TWO SETS DOWN?!?!?!?! ARE YOU SLEEPING?!?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!! YOU BETTER WIN THE NEXT THREE SETS OR ELSE YOU'RE GOING TO FEEL A LOT OF WRATH!!!!!! I HAVE CAPS LOCK ON!

AND I CAN MAKE IT BOLD!

AND ITALIC!

AND UNDERLINE IT!

Not at all unhappy to see Roddick go out at all, bizarrely even though I had him to win against Isner, and also to win the next round as well.

It's all a question of relative damage - a result that's bad for you, but even worse for others is in fact a good result. Since I have duckface going out in the quarters, and nearly 3/4 have him reaching the semi I'm guessing that's going to help me eventually.

That's what I'm trying to convince myself anyhow, as I plummet out of the top 10 ....

If you've got Nole reaching the semis, you're right, Duckboy losing to Isner is more likely than not to be a good result for you in the long run.
