Apparantly Dominika Cibulkova has withdrawn, so if I'm not mistaken, that should open up a LL spot which Katie or Elena should have a good shot at if they can both get to FQR.
Edit: Brianti has been moved up to the MD, so the withdrawal must have been before 11AM.

Katie is used to dealing with young upstarts in grand slams, so I had little doubt that she would win. Georgie did well to get back into her match, but it is the third slam out of four where she has suffered an agonising defeat. She should take some heart from the fact that Katie had a number of similar results at this level before she got used to winning. Georgie needs to follow Katie's improvement quickly though, before losing tight matches in slams becomes too much of a habit.
For the record Katie won 6-3 6-2

Anna Tatishvili duly wins. She will be a tougher opponent than Hofmanova, having won a couple of Grand Slam qualifiers and been successful in US hardcourt tournaments, but I think Katie can win
