In the doubles, Faris Akhazzan & David Rice were on opposite sides of the net with Thai partners:

R1:  WC Faris Akhazzan & Phassawit Burapharitta UNR lost to David Rice & Kittiphong Wachiramanowong 3-6 6-7(4) cry smile

David & "Wachi"  will play the Indonesian WCs, Ketut-Nesa Arta & Christopher Rungkat, in the QF after they despatched the Jap top seeds, Kondo & Motomura, by 4 & 2!

... except as luck would have it, there is now a blank space in the draw on ITF where Motomura should have been, so hopefully that means Coco or a lucky loser smile.gif

*  Coco beat the Japanese LL, Sho Katayama (WR 1574), 2 & 5.  I hope the withdrawal of the sixth seed means that Jamie's chances of reaching the QF are that little bit rosier:  there's not that much of a rankings difference between him & Coco, after all... wink pray.gif

Not sure how rosy David's chances are of even playing in the QF, let alone reaching the SF:  "Wachi" retired at 3-6 down against the third seed, Moriya (JAP), in today's singles matches! hmm
