The Frenchman's made the most of his LL berth, courtesy of JMDP's withdrawal on ground of fatigue! He's reached the QF by beating, somewhat surprisingly, IMHO, Jürgen Melzer &, earlier today, GGL, but is probably "cruisin' for a bruisin'" agin Andy, who hasn't yet dropped a set. The two have met only once before, in the last 64 at Wimbledon in 2006, when Andy won in four. Can't see JB levelling the head-to-head this time round...
A good battle in the end from Andy but excellent effort from Benneteau who ran out of legs. Well done to both. Points defended for last 2 masters - bonus from now on.
Diabolical first set. Thank you to whoever set the alarm clock for the end of the twelfth game, but I wish you had set it a bit earlier - he looked, and played, as though he were still asleep.
Andy, please, if it is Federer tomorrow, play better than that. If it's Hewitt I don't mind if you lose and get some more recovery time for the USO!
The good news about that was he won, but not a very good performance, at least to begin with.
First set was pretty dreadful by Murray but from what I could see, he seemed to wake up a bit having gone a set and a break down (at which point the stream became almost unwatchable from midway through the second set)
Sounds like he got better as the match went on and Bennetaeu ran out of energy, but to begin with, Murray was allowed Bennetaeu to dictate the match.
There's no real reason why Murray should struggle with the wind so much given the amount of spin he puts on his shots and how rarely he does play flat, but it does seem to give him trouble, which is something that may need to be improved in the future.

The only theory I could come up with for 3 abysmal performances in the wind was that Andy likes to hit comparatively slow shots which can be affected more by the wind than driven ones. The adjustment shouldn't take more than a set though.
