RE: Week 33 - Futures F7(10k) - New Delhi, India - Hard (Dung!)

While I'm sure Chris Eaton has the talent to win titles at this level and even at small challenger level, I would still be pleasantly surprised if he actually achieved it, because he's yet to show the focus and consistency to go deep into any tournaments. Someone please correct me, but I don't think Chris has ever won a singles title.

Solid win for Chris, he looks to have found some form over in India and makes his second semi-final of his career at this level!!
Also a good win over the second seeds in the doubles, hopefully they can take the title against the top seeds.

Doubles:

SF: (3) Chris Eaton/ Sean Thornley WR 1446 def (2) Vivek Shokeen/ Rohan Gajjar WR 1268 6-4 6-2

Tommorow:

Good news for Chris again, looks like he's sticking to his task right now -

Quarterfinal
Vishnu VARDHAN (IND) (1) defeated Rupesh ROY (IND) (7) 6-3 6-2
Peter LUCASSEN (NED) (5) defeated N. Vijay Sundar PRASHANTH (IND) 7-6(3) 2-0 Retired
Chris EATON (GBR) (3) defeated Sean THORNLEY (GBR) (8) 6-1 6-3
Young-Jun KIM (KOR) (2) defeated Ranjeet VIRALI-MURUGESAN (IND) (6) 6-0 6-2

Chris and Sean also made it through to the doubles final by 4 and 2, so overall not a bad week for Sean either.

Oops, just got beaten to it!!

Another good win for Chris who looks to be in very good form this week. Definately should be capable of claiming the title if he can play to his best tennis, but whether or not he can do so is the question.

Maybe a couple of titles/good runs in India-enough to put him back into Davis Cup contention?

Play in the doubles final was suspended at 6-3 6-6, I presume in favour of the N° 1 seeds!  Here's hoping Chris & Sean can turn it round tomorrow. pray.gif

It isn't really a surprise that Chris lost that match, but it was a great chance of getting a futures title.

Hope he can continue to have good results in the next few weeks and that title will come.
