Rogers Cup QF - Andy v Davydenko

erm.gif

6pm UK time again. Are Sky bribing the tournament directors?

H2H is 4 all, with Andy winning the last one on clay but Davydenko was just coming back from injury at the time. Of the 3 times they met in 2008, all on hard, Donkey won the last 2. . .

Fingers and everything else firmly crossed.

I wouldnt mind betting that the tournament does it to keep Sky happy, who knows how much Sky pay for the rights. Its not as though the other 3 matches are low quality, I would love to watch them all, particularly the 2 Andys.

I didnt realise the 'historic QF' was even a possibility til this morning!

Not a good match so far, but Murray's taken the first set 6-2.

Davydenko though is just making error after error....21 made in that set with just 4 winners to go with it, and he's missing every other forehand at the moment.

Murray serve percentage is down as well, but it's not making much difference with how poorly Davydenko is playing.

6-2 6-4.  The match was nowhere near as comfortable as the scoreline would suggest, though, with neither player playing very well.

Never mind. It's a W, and an important W as well.

H2H of 5:4 is better than 4:4 as well. smile

He got the job done without playing particularly well which is a good thing, but that's a match that will be forgotten very quickly.

Davydenko just didn't show up at all and even though he improved in the second set, Murray was never in any danger and you always felt the break was coming.

Still would like to see that first serve percentage higher than it was, with it just at 50% today. Second serve doesn't look to have improved a great deal and if Davydenko had been on his game he could have caused some damage to it, and you'd like to be better against Federer.

Well, whoever you decided, it has turned out to be JWT.

Damn. I would have preferred Federer. Jo-Willi is one of the powerful players who can blow Andy off the court, if he is on a good day.

Maybe the emotions of the Federer match will affect him!

The match took a lot out of Tsonga, he'll be extremely tired, plus he got injured at the end of the 1st set

I expect Andy to win in straights 7-5, 6-4
