Oh, OEM being a bit naughty, say what you're thinking man
Re the US Open, though, he is absolutely right about scheduling, both re how late they put on the mens quarters on Thursday with weather threatening and just generally.
Think last year when there was the remnants of a hurricane heading for New York and everyone knew heavy rain was going to arrive, and they didn't show the absolutely obvious common sense and start the Murray v Nadal semi on say Louis Armstrong at the same time as the Federer semi. Far too belatedly they did start it on Louis Armstrong and the rain arrived ( later than actually forecast ) after 3 sets.
If they had started at the obvious ( to most ) time, it would probably have finished that day and the final could have been played on Sunday. Similarly this year, they could easily have had the mens quarters completed on Thursday.
I mean the US Open schedule is crap at best of times ( TV rules ! ) with both men's and women's semis the day before their final, but they sure have an ability to make things worse. Farce !
Time the players spoke up more if they aren't already.
I see they've also said that people with tickets for Saturday will only be able to use them for Sunday and people with tickets for Sunday will only be able to use them for Monday, which is some ways is fairer than the Wimbledon method, but in practice is much less sensible because there are bound to be loads of people who bought tickets for Sunday knowing they could make it then who won't be able to make it on Monday.
Edit: see below

Sunday sounds pretty crowded
I guess you mean Saturday for Sunday and Sunday for Monday - i agree it is fairer though not as practical
I am kinda assuming the court surface has already been chosen and set in stone ( well not lierally )
Do we know how fast it is meant to be ?
I wouldn't have thought it was going to be particularly slow, but unless it is I agree with Mad that Evo would have seemed a more sensible pick than Ward.
But maybe there is more to it than meets the eye, eh OEM ?

Perhaps it's the "pretend you're really keen to play and then when you pull out at the last minute through 'injury' people will be less harsh" tactic. Good to see the PR improving, if nothing else.
Anyone know if Kubot can still be drafted into the team? he lost 1st rd to Serra and isn't in the dubs? i assume the Poles can still alter the team (just like we can to bring in Evans right)
