lets say Murray cant make it, i'd probably play James and Dan. Josh has been dire this summer (i know James hasn't been great either) and really its unbelievable that Josh is picked ahead of Alex just cause Alex has lost in the past. Picking a player who has won just 2 matches all summer, the highest being a player ranked 738, over Alex who has 8 wins in the summer, and a set off Baggy!

Very true, particularly when you take into account that apart from his losses to Okun in Eastbourne when Okun was at a temporary low of 270 and to Peya last year when he was WR 164 (both matches where Boggo was injured but the captain hadn't left himself any alternatives), Alex's DC losses have all come against top 100 players plus Okun when he was WR 153, i.e. ranked well above either of the singles players in the Polish squad.

yes i know a sound like a broken record on this, but can you honestly say of any of the other Brits available at the time for selection would they have won one of the matches Alex lost? its not likely, the only ones i think may have been Jamie Baker and Chris Eaton, but it would have hardly been a sure thing and the wins would then be counted as up their as one of the best in their career.

Goodall, is a good choice because of his doubles ability as well as singles, he has only been poor this summer due to injury/illness. Bogdanovic, has had so many chances, he should never come back into consideration.

would seem that Colin is being drafted in to cover mainly dubs option. with Andy a bit of a doubt he may not play dubs rubber (if he plays at all), did Ross & Colin play together vs Ukraine?

I definately wouldn't expect Murray to play the doubles rubber if the reports about him are true, which sort of means that Fleming and Hutchins almost have to both be named in the final 4 man squad, as I wouldn't fancy Evans or Ward to play doubles (and it's not like we can afford to throw away the doubles, even if we should get 3 rubbers out of Murray's singles and the 5th match)
Almost means a choice between Ward and Evans has to be made beforehand and you'd probably pick Evans given his superior form indoors and Ward would be left out of the squad.
