Dear All, Regards from New York where I sit here shame-facedly having made a terrible mistake for which profuse apologies have been passed on to Colin Fleming. I did, indeed, miss the second set of quotation marks from Mac's comments and attributed the quote to Colin which I appreciate is entirely unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour. We are none of us perfect and this was certainly one of those imperfect moments. I hope it will not make you look upon me too unkindly. Best wishes. OEM
I won't look unkindly on you - I enjoy reading your articles - but it is rather, how shall I put it, "casual" to use info from a forum without checking the facts!
personally i was more annoyed about the article having a go at the players for having their girlfriends with them
why? look no further than Fabio Capello since he banned the WAGS we have regained respect, the boys look sharper and god forbid they may finally win something
it was totally embarasing that Erickson trip with the girls falling out of nightclubs totally off there faces, encouraged the wrong attitude altogether, they were on a jolly
but they are in a team sport, having WAGs around easily damages the team mentality. not to mention i doubt the tennis partners will be as distracting as the football ones. Roger isn't hurt by having Mirka round the whole time, neither is Andy or Rafa when watched by Kim/Xisca
True but Mirka, Kim and Xisca don't go round creating more publicity than the players themselves like the WAGs did through their sordid, drunken activities in various German nightspots. They really gave the national team a bad name in 06
Full marks for OEM for coming on here to explain. I certainly won't look on him too unkindly for this - it's quite a compliment to the board that he considers it such an accurate source of info (which of course it usually is if you don't miss where the quotation marks end!) - I hope Colin has forgiven him and that the other journos aren't giving him TOO much stick!

Thanks Neil. Agree with Steven fully.
Cannot think of any other tennis journo that would be so humble....to a fan site such as this anyway.
Cannot see any reasonable person 'looking unkindly' at you.
Im sure Neil reads here because we love and appreciate British tennis so much.
A bit early to say definitively but not good news from Andy regarding some sort of wrist injury. If Murray pulls out, what team would you go for folks?
I like this team. I think Ward should play singles purely because he hasn't had a chance yet and as the number 2 ranked player he has to be given one.
Murray should play all 3 days if at all possible and should play doubles with Hutch, then Josh is a good fourth man as he can fill in adequately in either singles or doubles.
